Our History

In 2010, a Henry Blackaby study, "Experiencing God" prompted thought about a ministry in our hometown. Through lots of prayer, Solomon's Closet began.

We started as a clothing closet and opened our doors on September 8, 2010, but in 2014 we officially became a nonprofit and changed the name to Solomon's Mission. In 2017 we took ownership of our building at 592 Lowe Street.

During 2012, we started an annual "Back to School Day." This event provided any children (in grades Pre-K through High School) with a bag of clothes, part of their school supplies and a haircut. Since then, Back to School Day has served hundreds of children.
